Victor Troubatchov

Freedom Waters Foundation Program Director East Coast, Victor has a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation Therapy/Sports Management as a Magna cum laude graduate from Florida International University. Additionally, Victor is a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist and maintains his credentials through the NCTRC. He is extremely passionate and dedicated to his field of study and assisting others in the community. Victor has a professional background of managing and implementing adaptive sport and providing therapeutic interventions for individuals across the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive domains. Working in local government throughout the last 7 years he has brought Special Olympics teams to gold medals, trained adaptive athletes to cycle hundreds of miles, and championed the ideology of inclusion in our community programs. With his ever-inventive approach Victor likes to demonstrate firsthand that if one has the idea to do something, that much of anything is possible and it creates a profound impact on the populations he has directly served.

Victor became a sailor and a boater in 2013 and had only regretted not engaging on life on the water sooner. On his journey to become a Recreation Therapist, he was introduced to a community-based internship in the Summer of 2013 which provided adaptive sailing and water sports activities to individuals with disabilities and without. Since that moment he has immersed himself in life on the water either by kayak, powerboat, and most recently the yachting lifestyle. In Victors pursuit to helping members of the community achieve their goals in their recreation and leisure we welcome him aboard as the newest member of the Freedom Waters Foundation.

Victor’s comprehensive understanding of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating therapeutic intervention delivery models blend effortlessly with the mission and philosophy of the Freedom Waters Foundation. Being a Florida resident since 1991 and a Broward Country resident since 1999, his familiarity with Southeast Florida’s region will contribute to the future success of FWF and expansion providing individuals and family’s experiences on the water to remember!
