Nukhet Hendricks, MS is a seasoned nonprofit executive and visionary leader with more than twenty years of experience in human services, animal welfare, and mission-driven organizational leadership. Known for her ability to align strategy with heart, she has built and led high-impact organizations through periods of transformation, growth, and lasting community impact. Her academic foundation includes a Master of Science in Public, Human Service, and Nonprofit Administration, equipping her with both the analytical rigor and human-centered perspective that define her leadership.

Her career began in human services, where she led initiatives that strengthened families, supported vulnerable populations, and advanced community safety, laying the foundation for a leadership philosophy rooted in dignity, access, and compassion. She later brought that same commitment to animal welfare, serving as Executive Director for multiple organizations where she scaled operations, expanded donor engagement, and strengthened the connection between communities and the mission.

Across every role, Nukhet has demonstrated proven expertise in nonprofit management, including strategic planning, financial oversight, program development, and major donor cultivation. She has led seven-figure organizations, built sustainable fundraising programs, and consistently translated vision into measurable results.

Born in Adana, Turkey, Nukhet spent her early years along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, an experience that instilled in her a lifelong connection to water and trust in its healing power. Today, that connection comes full circle as she steps into her role as President & CEO of the Freedom Waters Foundation, leading an organization dedicated to therapeutic boating experiences for individuals facing life’s greatest challenges. She brings unwavering commitment to the vision, professional expertise and deep personal resonance to its mission
